Reichert and Burner

It is exciting that this situation is finally going behind us. Altghough I am not fully behind any politician, I like Reichert and feel that he is the better person for the job.

Darcy Burner is not only a puppet for others, she seems more and more angry each time you hear her. We really can't afford to have someone who is not in touch with the common person of our district. Even less can we afford to have someone who is out of touch with the reality.

The real candidate should have been Rodney Tom.

5th Avenue Theatre

I am very glad that I was able to get tickets to the 5th Avenue Theatre. It has been a blast. The place is incredible. It opened in 1926 and has an ornate interior modeled after three of Imperial China’s architectural achievements: the Forbidden City, the Temple of Heavenly Peace, and the Summer Palace. The theatre was also considered a technical marvel at the time, thanks to its state-of-the-art sound, lighting and ventilation systems.

One of the most stunning features is the auditorium’s center dome, a replica of the one from the palace’s throne room (only twice the size). The “Pearl of Perfection” chandelier is held in the teeth of a great coiling dragon, which has five toes—each toe representing an evil spirit that must be vanquished.

More than that, it is a great place for the shows that have been performed there. They have been a level above any local or regional plays. They bring a little extra for every show. I would definitely recommend the 5th Avenue.

Will the real loser please step forward ...

The elections are far from over, but the real loser is still around. The loser of the last 8 years is George Bush. The loser of the last 2 elections for his party is George Bush. The loser in the economic situation is George Bush.

His policies, arrogance, and lack of overall concern for the citizens of the United States will cost more than his party the election and cause them concern over the next few years. It will also create a lasting impression on the US public. He will go down as one of the worst presidents. His friends and accomplices over the past 8 years will be at his side: Dick Cheney, Alberto Gonzales, Donald Rumsfeld.

But, the real losers may be the United States public.

Post Election Feeling

It really does seem like the elections have been going on for over a year. I guess that is because they have been going on for ... over a year. Now, howerver, they are finally done. $1 Trillion later, we have no negative commercials, no partisan media discussions, and have some peace and quiet. Yet, I can't help but think that I miss some of it.

Some of my endorsed candidates won .. others lost. Most of them will survive and I am excited that life goes on.

I'll share my thoughts on some of the candidates later. Now, a few weeks after the election, most people have stopped talking about it. That, my friends is a good thing.

What is tomorrow? November 4th

Well, tomorrow is the election for 2008. It is a historic election because no matter what happens, a minority (African American or Female) will be elected to the Executive Offices.

That being said, I think we can safely say that Senator Barack Obama will be the next President of the United States. Senator John McCain has done a good job and will continue to do a great job in the U.S. Senate. The real concern (unless you pay attention to the media over the last year) will be how to work toward a better nation.

One of the best things, though, is the fact that more and more people are being registered and are voting. That is good news. Hopefully, they will pay as much attention to the local and State races as they do the the Presidential race. I am a new Federalist who believes that more decisions and emphasis should be made at the State and Local levels.

No matter what happens, life will continue to go on. Few changes in law and policy can be made from the Executive Office. There were little changes over the past 16 years (Bush - Clinton - Bush). So, don't expect the miracles to start happening. And, expect to get involved to help create change and work for something better.
