Two headlines hit the papers yesterday. One was the apology of Michael Phelps. After big photos of Phelps smoking canibus with a bong showed up, he was forced to apologize. This is on the heels of other apologies for partying, underaged drinking, etc. I am a firm believer in apologies. However, they need to sound sincere.
The other headline was of Dan Wilson. Dan Wilson was also an exceptional athlete. However, he didn't do on the field what Michael Phelps has done in a pool. He probably never will. What Dan Wilson does do is keep it real away from the field / pool. He has always been a great guy and a mentor / example for others.
In my book ... Dan Wilson: 1 and Michael Phelps: 0.
